New floors

In August, while we had a friend Chris staying with us, Robin finally got to sanding our downstairs floors.  We had already put one floor in our front lounge room the year we moved in, and it was due for resanding, but Robin had more recently put down another floor in the rest of the house (which he was very excited to find at the building recyclers).  This was the floor that really needing sanding!

This is the kitchen after patching and first sand.

I came home one day to find the kitchen/living/dining room emptied into the sunroom - the work had started!  And, as always happens, these sort of jobs take longer than anticipated ... so we were "picnicking" out of the sunroom for quite a while.

But I took advantage and decided to have a major "cull".  After the floors were finished I was very reluctant to put anything back - the space was wonderful, the colours were beautiful and everything was so clean and new looking.

However ... I was determined NOT to let anything back that wasn't sorted or cleaned or loved or needed.

We also changed the layout of the rooms a bit and now we have settled back in quite comfortably and are managing (most of the time) to keep it relatively ordered.

Here is Erin showcasing the new floors!

Oh ... and Robin also painted, so everything is so lovely and fresh.
